Tattoo Pricing & Info
What to expect: tattoo pricing, scheduling, consultations, deposits, and tipping.
Pricing for our tattoo shop.
We accept cards, apple pay, cash (though we don’t keep change on premises) and Tattoo 34 gift cards.
To purchase a Gift Card come visit the shop, or for an instant eGift card buy here. To check your balance of an already purchased card, check here.
We have a $150 shop minimum and our tattoo artists charge by the hour or per session. Some tattoo artists have higher minimums, use day rates or have session fees. See specific pricing for each tattoo artist on their own page, website or on their tattoo request form.
“Minimum” means: no matter how small your tattoo is or how quickly it is completed, it will cost this flat rate.
Quote.
To get an accurate price quote, if a tattoo artists books (schedule) is open, fill out the tattoo project request booking form and the tattoo artist can get back to you with a quote. We do not give quotes on DM’s, over the phone, or email. Our tattoo artists need to know your design details, style, placement and your vision to understand what you’re looking for.
When a design changes, the price changes. Tattoo quotes are a rough estimate, total cost will be adjusted as needed. We do not offer quotes for entire sleeves or back pieces up front. Large scale projects will likely be quoted by session and can change as the ideas and design develops.
Art.
Our tattoo artists are just that: Artists. They want to give you a lifelong piece of art. If one of our tattoo artists has suggestions on size, placement or composition, please consider what they are saying. We have experienced tattoo artists in our tattoo shop (and a couple newer tattoo artists who are mentored by our experienced artists) who we trust to have your best interests in mind. If you are on a budget let your tattoo artist know, they can work with you to figure out what works best.
How to schedule a tattoo appointment:
-
1. Pick the tattoo artist you want to work with
Take some time to explore our tattoo artists info, look at their tattoo work and read the description of their speciality and interests. Choose a tattoo artist who matches the concept and style you are looking for, for your tattoo work.
Their tattoo artist page on this website and their instagram profiles are a good way to get to know them.
Most tattoo artists don’t schedule consultations until an appointment has been booked but if you want to meet the tattoo artist of your choice before booking, contact them directly or come in and say hello on a walk in tattoo day that they are working.
-
2. Follow their scheduling instructions
Each of our tattoo artists manage their own booking process, calendars, and client communication. To ensure the best experience, please follow their individual instructions.
If you have any trouble reaching a tattoo artist or need assistance, feel free to contact the shop directly (email: info@tattoo34pdx.com or text our phone: 503-235-3606).
-
3. Tattoo Request Form
Some of our tattoo artists utilize a “Tattoo Request Form” to streamline communication.
This has been a great way to gather all the necessary details upfront (without the back and forth) to respect both you and the artist’s time. From the information provided our tattoo artists can assess if they are a good fit for your tattoo concept.
Response time depends on the tattoo artist you request, each form has an expected response time (above the submit button). We do hope you get a reply no matter what they decide, we try not to leave people hanging :)
-
4. Square Appointment Links
If your tattoo concept is approved from a tattoo request form you will be sent an email with a square appointment link to pay a deposit and schedule yourself an appointment.
To watch a walk through video of how to use the scheduling link: click here.
Some tattoo artists only send you deposit link and book the appointment themselves.
We only collect card deposits through Square or cash in the tattoo shop. Our tattoo artists don’t collect deposits over social media or other digital payment services to eliminate our clients being scammed by others.

Consultation with your tattoo artist.
Many of our artists utilize tattoo request forms (instead of in person consultations) for tattoo project proposals and get the information they need to determine if they are the right tattoo artist for your tattoo concept.
If you are getting a larger, highly detailed, custom piece, or a cover up, a consult might still be necessary, depending on the tattoo artist.
An in person or online consultation gives the tattoo artist an opportunity to see the location of where the tattoo will be going on your body, confirm and discuss design details and give you a price quote or the estimated number of sessions the tattoo might take.
Pricing depends on the tattoo artist you work with. Please note that any quote or session estimate provided is an initial guideline. The final price may adjust depending on later design changes or how well you sit (which can add time) during the tattoo process.
Most tattoo artists don’t usually schedule consultations until an appointment has been booked but if you want to meet a tattoo artist before proceeding with a tattoo request form or committing to an appointment, come in on a walk in day (Wednesday or Sunday) that they are working or contact them directly.
At an in person consultation, have any reference pictures to share with your tattoo artist and be prepared to pay your deposit.
Let your tattoo artist know on the tattoo request form or during the consult if you have any medical conditions such as skin issues, blood borne illness’, or allergies. This will not stop you from getting a tattoo at our tattoo shop it only provides us with more information. Our tattoo artists will be able to work with you better and can prepare adequately for the tattoo day, with all the info. If you have any concerns, always consult with your doctor first.
*Hand, neck, feet and face tattoos are done on a case by case basis and at the tattoo artists discretion. An in-person consultation is usually required for these before an appointment can be scheduled.
Deposits for tattoo appointments.
We only collect card deposits through Square or cash in the tattoo shop. Our tattoo artists don’t collect deposits over social media or other digital payment services to eliminate our clients being scammed by others.
In order to schedule a tattoo appointment we require a deposit. The amount ranges depending on the tattoo and the tattoo artist. Walk in tattoo days (Wednesday and Sunday) do not require any deposits.
Deposits go towards the cost of your tattoo and they are generally non-refundable. In some cases your deposit is good for as long as it takes to finish the tattoo, other times, it’s one deposit per appointment or session.
Your deposit is non refundable in general but can be forfeited if:
- More than 6 months pass without an appointment made or communication from you
- Rescheduling an appointment more than twice
- Missing a scheduled appointment without notice
- Cancelling or rescheduling an appointment after the 3 day Square Appointment cut off
- Excessive drawing changes (at the tattoo artists discretion)
- Cancelling (not rescheduling) after the tattoo artist started your drawing
Our tattoo artists work hard for you and apply hours towards a custom piece. Deposits protect our artists time, labor and schedule investment.
Cancel or reschedule your tattoo appointment.
If you scheduled your tattoo appointment using Square appointments, you can change your own appointment up to three days before the scheduled tattoo day using the information from Square (email and/or text message). If you need to cancel or reschedule closer to time (due to illness or emergency) and Square does not let you, contact the tattoo artist (or their scheduling person) you have the appointment with. Appointments should not be cancelled or rescheduled within those 3 days for avoidable circumstances.
We do want anyone who is sick or not feeling well to reschedule their tattoo appointment. Our tattoo artists will work to get you rescheduled in a timely manner.
We do not want you to feel pressured to get tattooed, even if you already scheduled an appointment. Talk to your tattoo artist if you are nervous or have concerns.
In general, a tattoo deposit is non-refundable, see above.
Tipping your tattoo artist.
Your tattoo artists strives to make your experience exceptional. If you are happy with your tattoo and the service your tattoo artist provided at our tattoo shop, a tip is greatly appreciated. Tips typically range from 10-30% ($10-30 per hour) but more than that is never a bad thing. A cash tip is preferred, but not necessary.
Another great way to support your tattoo artists and recognize our tattoo shop is to review us on Yelp or Google and share your tattoo and experience on your social media platforms.
We also love getting images from our clients! If you took pictures of the shop, during your appointment, or have healed images of your tattoo we would love to have the opportunity to feature them!
If you have questions, comments, or concerns please let us know.
