Community Tattoo Artists.
Work with PDX BIPOC tattoo artists, recommended by Tattoo 34.
Support Tattoo Artists of Color.
When you have a Tattoo 34 gift card, you can work with a larger pool of tattoo artists! Our resident tattoo artists at Tattoo 34 and the independent community tattoo artists listed below (on this page) accept Tattoo 34 gift cards.
Tattoo 34 is a supporter of other BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) tattooers and we want to help promote Black and Brown tattoo artists here in the Portland, OR area. Representation in the tattoo industry (especially in PDX) is much needed.
Who we are partnering with:
Tattoo artists who identify as Black, Indigenous, BIPOC and/or a Person of Color.
Tattoo artists who work in their own private studio or work at a tattoo shop or tattoo collective and pay a flat rate fee (not percentage based) and who are independently licensed and insured in Oregon.
Tattoo artists who have similar values as we do for our community, a supportive client environment, belief in giving back, and continued personal growth within our industry.
Tattoo artists who have either worked in some capacity at/with Tattoo 34 and who we are happy to recommend to our Tattoo 34 clients.
If you are a BIPOC tattoo artist in Portland, OR, you fit the description above and you want to join us as a community tattoo artist, contact us!

Luna Enriquez
Luna she/her is an Indigenous multimedia artist who began tattooing in 2022. Before learning to tattoo, she received her BFA from the Pacific Northwest College of Art with a focus in printmaking and general fine art. She enjoys tattooing anything with black and grey shading, but also loves being a go-to for people’s most odd, zany, and irreverent tattoo ideas. Her main non-tattooing hobbies are making miniature food out of polymer clay, printing on a risograph machine, and hanging out with her two siamese cats.

Disclaimer: Even though we recommend these PDX tattoo artists and hold them in high regard, when they are not working on location at Tattoo 34 we can not take responsibility for their tattoo work, client care, work space or professionalism.
If there are any problems with a tattoo artist associated with Tattoo 34, please let us know at: info@tattoo34pdx.com or fill out an anonymous form here.
How it works:
Buy a Tattoo 34 gift card.
Purchase a Tattoo 34 gift card and it can be used to pay for a tattoo appointment with any tattoo artist at Tattoo 34 or with a community independent tattoo artist (listed above). In some cases, the gift card can’t be used to pay an appointment deposit.
Schedule an appointment.
Schedule an appointment as you normally would with any of the Tattoo 34 artists or with a community independent tattoo artist (listed above). Every tattoo artist, in or out of our tattoo shop, has their own client process. Please be respectful of their system, be mindful of their books (schedules) being open or closed, and make sure you are choosing an artist that is a good fit for your tattoo idea.
Show up and get tattooed.
If you are working with a community independent tattoo artist (listed above), they are not located at Tattoo 34, be sure you know their location address and process. Every tattoo artist you work with through Tattoo 34 (resident or community artist) should have you fill out a tattoo waiver and give you tattoo aftercare instructions.
Use gift card to pay.
Use the Tattoo 34 gift card (with Square) when paying for a tattoo session, just like you would with a credit or debit card. At Tattoo 34 or with a community tattoo artist in their own location, the tattoo artists percentage (and 100% of any tip) will be automatically paid to the tattoo artist after the transaction is complete.
How we support these tattoo artists.
-
Representaton.
The modern tattoo industry has been (and continues to be) a white and male dominated space. Tattoo 34 is committed to supporting tattoo artists who identify as BIPOC- Black, Indigenous, People of Color even if they do not work permanently at Tattoo 34.
One way we support all of our resident and community tattoo artists is by marketing and promoting them to our customer base and sharing resources.
-
Education.
We offer community opportunities to all of our resident and community tattoo artists.
Sharing experiences, getting support and education from each other is valuable in any industry but tattooing has historically been a closed mouth business. We open our shop to the community artists to join our resident tattoo artists for art nights, teaching times (with established tattoo artists) and any workshop we bring in (covering various topics).

Body work.
Tattooing is hard on the body. Tattoo artists can be in difficult positions for their bodies while working on clients. They have to stand and/or sit in one position, sometimes for hours.
We understand the challenges for tattoo artists bodies and provide yoga classes at The People’s Yoga for all the tattoo artists (resident and community). The People’s Yoga is located next door to our tattoo shop on Hawthorne (or at their second location in NE).
Help change the tattoo industry in PDX.
Modern tattooing has been (and continues to be) a white and male dominated space. Tattoo 34 is committed to supporting tattoo artists who are BIPOC- Black, Indigenous, People of Color who are working to get into the tattoo industry in Oregon, where a tattoo license is required. To obtain an Oregon state tattoo license, an artist must attend a tattoo school (if they hadn’t previously been tattooing in another state). The tattoo schools and licensing process is expensive (10K+) and can be hard to navigate.
The Oregon tattoo school system is not a favorite but it does provide an opportunity for anyone to get tattoo training (who can afford it). A traditional tattoo apprenticeship only benefits people who can get one.
This is where we saw a need and are starting a fund for aspiring tattoo artists. Our fund will be given out to BIPOC artists who are in the Oregon tattoo school system. We want to help make a more diverse Oregon tattoo industry.
Tattoo 34 and our tattoo artists have already donated knowledge, time and money to several BIPOC artists and we are currently working on growing and implementing this fund.
Donate directly to this fund (100% of the direct donations will go to BIPOC artists in the Oregon tattoo school system):
